Upholding Father in the face of unproven allegations

by ESGD
Dear brothers and sisters,
We want to share an article by Gary Fleisher about the background of the birth of Sammy Pak, published online in July 2025. Gary pioneered the digital access of Unificationist texts, and an archive of True Parents’ speeches, through his creation and stewardship of the website www.tparents.org.
The allegation that Sammy Pak was born out of a sexual relationship between True Father and Annie Choi, has been around for a long time and has recently been resurfacing in a significant way. This is a source of confusion for many Unificationists; despite not knowing many of the details, and not having evidence, many draw their conclusions.
We are choosing to share this article, also in the context of recent prominent media coverage which has highlighted this sensitive issue. Furthermore, these allegations have increasingly been accepted and supported by some educators and leaders within the movement. It is painful that accusations of Father’s sexual sins and other ‘serious mistakes’ are a part of the foundation and education of the ‘new theology’. In the context of the Unificationist ideal of ‘Absolute Sexual Ethics’ this is deeply problematic.
There is no proof that either Sun Myung Moon or Bo Hi Pak are the father of Sammy Pak; a DNA test was never done. Father was confronted with slander and accusations throughout his life, and we do not believe the accusation to be true. At the very least, it is important to consider and evaluate other feasible explanations for who the father of Sammy Pak could be.
Despite it being a matter of public interest, we wish to extend our sympathy to the families and individuals affected. We believe the reputation of an innocent man who offered his life in service to God and humanity is at stake.
Sincerely,
ESGD Team
